Day 1

Reykjavík
Arrival at Keflavík Airport, transfer to hotel in Reykjavík.

 

Day 2  

Reykjavík – Thingvellir (55km/1h)
Departure to Thingvellir, the venue of the oldest Parliament in the world. Continue to Geyser hot spring and the waterfall of Gullfoss. In the afternoon try horse-riding on an Icelandic horse in the attractive landscape. Overnight.

 

Day 3

Thingvellir–Hekla (45km/40min) – Sprengisandur (55km/1h) 
Visit Hekla, Iceland’s most active volcano. Pass on through the highlands to the hot springs of Landmannalaugar and arrival in Sprengisandur. Overnight. 

 

Day 4

Sprengisandur – Husavík (474km/6h)
Drive to the mountain Sprengisandur. On both sides you can see glaciers. During the day visit the mountain hut at Nýidalur, and the Aldeyjarfoss and Godafoss waterfalls. Arrive in Husavik. Overnight.

 

Day 5

Husavik 
From Húsavík, sail out on the ocean for whale watching. One of the highlights of today is the phenomenon of Ásbyrgi.  Next stop will be at Europe’s largest waterfall, Dettifoss and its  little brother Selfoss. Return to hotel for overnight.

 

Day 6

Husavik
Lake Mývatn is surely the Pearl of Nature in North Iceland. The birdlife, the lava fields formations, the hot springs and the eye catching false craters.

 

Day 7

Husavik – Sænautasel (168km/2h30min)
Visit the lava formations of Dimmuborgir. Aftewardsr drive to the volcano Krafla. Continue driving to the ancient farmhouse of Sænautasel. 

 

Day 8  

Sænautasel - Djúpivogur
En route pay a visit to the stone collector Perla, who has filled her home with thousands of beautiful samples or visit the bird collection and a sculpture museum at Djúpivogur. Overnight.

 

Day 9  

Djúpivogur – Kirkjubæjarklaustur (300km/4h)
At Jökulsárlón, cruise on boat for a closer look at this almost fairytale world. Also visit the Skaftafell National Park before heading to your accommodation at Hotel, near Kirkjubæjarklaustur.

 

Day 10  

Kirkjubæjarklaustur – Skógar (105km/1h30min) – Reykjavík (152km/2h)
Travel to Reynisfjara to view the Reynisdrangar columns in the ocean. Drive to Skógar for a visit to the Folk Museum. On the way back stop at the waterfall Seljalandsfoss, where you can walk behind the water. Departure to Reykjavik. Overnight

 

Day 11

Reykjavík
Transfer to the airport.
