Republic of Macedonia

The landlocked country of Macedonia was formerly part of Yugoslavia and still a virtually undiscovered part of the European tourist trail.  It is a paradise for skiers and mountaineers as well as hikers. The bustling capital city Skopje has something of interest for everyone and the culturally rich town of Ohrid is a highlight for visitors. There are many interesting places to visit in Macedonia like the St. Jovan Bigorski monastery, take a raft trip on the lace at Otechevo and the village of Konjsko located in the valley of Lake Prespa. All through Macedonia you will find interesting monasteries and lovely typical fishing villages.
