Day 1

Arrival at Warsaw airport and transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Warsaw.

 

Day 2

Warsaw – sightseeing
A half-day city tour in Warsaw – the Capital of Poland – see the Lazienki Park, the majestic Royal Palace, the Jewish Ghetto and memorial monument, the Old Town with its 13-14th century houses, St. John Church and the Palace of Culture and Science. In the afternoon we have free time and the possibility for an optional tour. Overnight in Warsaw.

 

Day 3

Warsaw – Wroclaw (340 km/6 h)
Arrive in Wroclaw and check in to Your hotel. Boat cruise on the Odra River. Overnight in Wroclaw.

 

Day 4

Wroclaw
Walking in Wroclaw, which is known as the city of 100 bridges. Visit Ostrow Tunski island, which is the oldest part of the city, see the Gothic churches on the island, than see the old Market Square, its Gothic City Hall, surrounded by burgher houses. Afternoon: Wroclaw-Ksiaz-Swidnica-Wroclaw (65 km/1h).  Excursion to Ksiaz, the 13th century fortress of Piast Dukes, later the seat of the Von Hochberg family, walk through the beautiful 15-acre park. Later stop in Swidnica to visit the Evangelical Church of Peace, a symbol of ecumenicalism after the counter reformation. Overnight in Wroclaw.

 

Day 5

Wroclaw – Czestohowa (208 km/3h) – Krakow (142 km/2h)
The city of Czestohowa is a popular pilgrimage destination known for its monastery complex of Jasna Gora from the 16th century and the Black Madonna icon of the Virgin Mary from 6th century, believed to be miraculous. The Pauline monastery of Jasna Gora includes the gothic Chapel of The Virgin, the baroque Church of the Holy Cross and Nativity of Mary and defensive walls, gates bastions. In the city there are amazing churches and beautiful town parks. Arrival in Krakow, Overnight in Krakow.

 

Day 6

Krakow
Half-day sightseeing in Krakow - The Wawel Hill, the Royal Castle and the Coronation Cathedral, the burial place of kings and famous Poles, the Old Town surrounded by defense walls, the Barbican, the Market Square dominated by St. Mary’s Church with the famous XV c. linden wood altar, the Cloth Hall housing a multitude of souvenir shops. A special tour of Jagiellonian University, one of the oldest in Europe. Afternoon free time. Overnight in Krakow.

 

Day 7

Krakow - Wieliczka – Aushwitz - Krakow
Visit the Wieliczka Salt Mine near Krakow. This 800 year old salt mine is the oldest in Europe. Walk through the underground salt stone world: the splendid St. Kinga’s Chapel with salt sculptures and relics, corridors housing the original constructions and post excavation chambers as well as the subterranean salt lakes. After the tour we will continue our drive to Krakow, with a stopover in Lagiewniki, where we will visit the Lagiewniki Cathedral - Sister Faustyna’s Sanctuary of Divine Mercy. On way back to Cracow visit the Auschwitz concentration camp. Overnight in Krakow.

 

Day 8

Krakow –Warsaw (300km/4.5h) – Via Oicow National Park - Pieskowa Skala Castle
En route we will stop  in Peskowa Skala to visit a well-preserved Renaissance Castle along the Eagle Nests Trail. High on a cliff over the valley of the Pradnik River, this 14th century fortification was rebuild in the 16th century as a Renaissance residence. Amazing pictures can be made. Overnight in Warsaw.

 

Day 9

Leisure time, transfer to the airport for final departure
