Day 1

Edinburgh
Arrival at the airport in Edinburgh. Transfer to the hotel.

 

Day 2

Edinburgh – Dunkeld (90km./1h.30min.) – Inverness (160km./2h.)
The tour goes to Dunkeld, on the banks of the River Tay. Visit the Cairngorms National Park in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. Admire the fabulous scenery, from wild moorlands and soaring mountain peaks to spectacular rivers and tranquil lochs. Learn about the plants and animals in the native pine woods of the Park. See a rich cultural heritage with castles and fortified houses. Continue on to the mysterious Loch Ness, best known for the alleged sightings of the legendary Loch Ness Monster.

 

Day 3

Inverness – Ullapool (90km./1h.30min.) – Lochinver (60km./1h.) – Inverness (140km./2h.)
Departure to Assynt, famous for its picturesque landscape.  See Corrieshalloch Gorge, a spectacular natural chasm that is well worth a visit. The gorge is almost a mile long and some 200 ft deep, yet in places is only 40 ft across at the top. Enjoy the tranquility of the town of Ullapool and admire some of the most beautiful unspoilt scenery in the world, undiscovered beaches, forests, hidden glens with stags grazing, waterfalls, bird sanctuaries to explore, breathtaking twisty single track roads .Visit the 15th century ruins of Ardvreck Castle, situated on a rocky promontory that juts into Loch Assynt. A rampart cut off the peninsula. Enjoy the Achmelvich bay, a beautiful spot in the North West of Scotland. The turquoise colour of the water really catches the eye and contrasts well with the lovely white sands. The tour finishes with a visit to the traditional fishing village of Lochinver.

 

Day 4

Inverness – Torridon (100km./1h.30min.) – Plockton (60km./1h.) – (Portee 65km./1h.)
The tour starts by travelling to Torridon, a small village, whose name is also applied to the area surrounding the village, particularly the Torridon Hills and the mountains to the north of Glen Torridon. Enjoy the tranquility and the view of Loch Torridon. Travelling along the wild coastline of Applecross, a beautiful and tranquil peninsula resting on the rugged coast of Wester Ross. Continue along Britain’s highest road to the “tropical” palm tree lined village of Plockton, which is considered to be the jewel in the Highlands' crown. Departure to the picturesque harbour town of Portee, isle of Skye.

 

Day 5

Portee – Trotternish –– Neist point (50km./1h.) – Talisker (50km./1h.) - Portee
Explore the island of Skye. Visit  the Quiraing, the northernmost summit of the Trotternish Ridge on the Isle of Skye. The whole of the Trotternish Ridge escarpment was formed by a great series of landslips. The Quiraing is the only part of the slip still moving. Visit the lighthouse at Neist, a popular viewpoint on the most westerly point of Skye.  Go to the Talisker Distillery and discover how  Malt whiskey is made. This alluring, sweet, full-bodied single malt is so easy to enjoy, and like Skye itself, so hard to leave.

 

Day 6

Portee – Dornie (70km./1h.) – Glen Coe (140km./2h.) – Edinburgh (200km./2h.30min.)
The trip starts by returning  to the mainland. Visit Eilean Donan Castle, a definite highlight. It was built in the 13th century and the place is, in reality, as amazing as it looks in photos.  Enjoy the view, travelling through the rugged scenery of the 5 Sisters of Kintail and Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the United Kingdom. Visit the Glen coe, considered one of the most spectacular and beautiful places in Scotland. The narrow glen shows a grim grandeur. Back to Edinburgh.

 

Day 6

Transfer to the airport.
