10 days 9 nights - BUDAPEST – LJUBLANA - LAKE BLED – SALZBURG- VIENNA - CESKY KUMROV – PRAGUE – BERLIN

Spend 10 wonderful days exploring  fascinating European cities in Hungary, Austria, Czech Republic, Germany and Slovenia that will include visits to outstanding architectural buildings as well as opportunities to view breathtakingly beautiful scenic locations.

 

 

Day 1  

BUDAPEST
Arrive in Budapest. Transfer to hotel.

 

Day 2  

BUDAPEST – LJUBLANA  (460km/5h20min)
Walking tour of Budapest, including visits to the Royal Palace, Matthias Church, and the Fisherman's Bastion.  Admire the evening view from Castle Hill on the Budapest side of the river over the Parliament and the Chain Bridge on the Danube River, visit Hero`s  Square, Parliament,  St. Stephen's Basilica and the synagogue. Depart and to Drive past Balaton lake on the way to Slovenia. Continue on to Ljubljana.

 

Day 3  

LJUBLJANA - LAKE BLED (57km/1h)
Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia is considered one of the most charming European cities. The most distinctive feature of Slovenia's largest city is its medieval hilltop Castle which offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the city and old town. The city is proud of its rich heritage, lively arts and cultural scene and has many festivals running throughout the year. Afternoon departure to Lake Bled, an alpine lake set in the beautiful scenery of the Alps.

 

Day 4  

LAKE BLED – SALZBURG (240km/2h30min)
On to Austria and Salzburg.  Enjoy a day trip visiting the breathtaking landscapes and locations, but also the historical and architectural landmarks in the city, as well as a part of the picturesque lake district. Salzburg is the hometown of Mozart, and it is also famous for Princess Sissi and The Sound of Silence. You'll be enchanted by the beautiful Salzkammergut landscape with its mountains and lakes, where the Emperor Franz Joseph and his family used to spend their holidays. Some of the  most important sights of the old city include the Cathedral, the Festival Hall and St Peter's Abbey Church.

 

Day 5  

SALZBURG – VIENNA (315km/4h)
Afternoon arrival in Vienna and exploration of the city centre with famous landmarks. You will see the Ringstrasse with all its magnificent buildings, including the Museum of Applied Arts, State Opera House, Museum of Fine Arts and Museum of Natural History, the Hofburg Palace, Parliament, City Hall, the Burghtheater and University, as well as the Votive Church.  Overnight.

 

Day 6  

VIENNA - CESKY KUMROV (200km/3h15min) – PRAGUE (180km/3h15min)
Morning exploration of Schonbrunn Palace and garden. In the afternoon departure towards Prague.  On the way stop in Cesky Krumlov to enjoy this medieval town  - you’ll be greeted by the sight of charming red-roofed buildings that cluster around the magnificent State Castle of Cesky Krumlov. This huge, beautifully restored castle complex dwarfs the small Krumlov town and comprises an impressive 40 buildings, numerous gardens, courtyards and a moat. Legend has it that the castle was built by Cesky Krumlov’s  royals to emulate Prague Castle, with the intention of enhancing their status in the Czech Royal Court. Departure to Prague.

 

Day 7  

PRAGUE
Full day tour of Prague, one of the most beautiful European cities. You will have a tour of charming Prague passing by the State Opera, National Museum and Wenceslas Square, a world heritage site with its statue of St. Wenceslas,  the patron Saint of Bohemia. Then continue across Charles Square to the banks of the River Vltava to Charles Bridge, the Rudolfinum and across the river to Prague Castle. You'll have the opportunity to enjoy a walk around the castle courtyards, where amongst other things you will see St. Vitus Cathedral, seat of the Archbishop of Prague, the Royal Palace and Golden Lane, the legendary place of the alchemists and their secrets.

 

Day 8  

PRAGUE – BERLIN (350km/4h15min)?
Early morning departure to Berlin. On the way stop at Leipzig and Dresden to admire two, most beautiful cities of the former East Germany. Evening arrival in Berlin. Almost bombed into rubble during Second World War, it has reawakened into a dynamic, bustling city. Berlin has a lot to offer, including culture, history and green landscapes. Brandenburg, the federal state that surrounds Berlin, is a paradise of beautiful green landscapes. Overnight.

 

Day 9  

BERLIN
City tour, including the imposing Brandeburg Gate, the Reichtag, the ruins of Kaiser Wilhelm Gedachtniskirche,  Alexanderplatz, once the heart of socialist Germany. South of the Unter den Linden alley is the infamous Checkpoint Charlie. In the afternoon you can enjoy some of the most popular museums, such as the Alts Museum, the Pergamonmuseum or one of other attractions: Schloss Charlottenburg and Berlin's Cathedral or zoological park.

 

Day 10    

BERLIN
Departure to airport.
