A NIGHT AT THE OPERA x 3 TOUR

Visit the magnificent cities of Prague, Vienna and Budapest to enjoy an amazing experience of sightseeing as well as attending performances at the Opera houses in all three of these cities.

 

 

Day 1

Arrival at Prague and transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Prague.

 

Day 2

Join the beautiful city Half-day guided tour: walk down through the Old Town and around Old Town Square and see the famous Astronomical Clock at the edge of the old Town. See the Tin Church, Powder Tower, Municipal House, Jewish Quarter. Continue from there down toward the Vltava River and walk across Charles Bridge. Today’s tour finishes at Charles Bridge (A stone Gothic bridge with Baroque statues that connects the Old Town and Lesser Town). Afternoon: Prague sightseeing II: Walk again to Charles Bridge for the second part of the city tour. Cross the Vltava River and  walk up to the hill to Prague Castle, the most massive castle complex in continental Europe.   Tour the impressive Old Royal Palace, St. George’s Basilica and St. Vitus Cathedral. Finish the tour at Golden Lane, with its amazing atmosphere of Kafka’s Prague.  In the evening  see a performance in the Prague State Opera House or in the Black Light Theatre. For many years the National Black Light Theatre Prague has been one of the most well known representatives of the world famous scenic style - black theatre. The specific poetic scenes, magic, humour and scenic tricks of this company have resulted in the doors of prestigious theatres in many countries of Europe, Asia and America being opened to them. Projects from the repertoire of National Black Light Theatre Prague have won a series of awards and excellent reviews from many theatre festivals around the world. Overnight in Prague.

 

Day 3

Prague – Vienna 294 (km/4.20 min)
Depart for Vienna City tour, which will introduce you to the most important sights of the Austrian capital. As we drive around the famous 'Ringstrasse', Vienna's main boulevard, we shall see the State Opera, the Museums of Fine Art, the Parliament building, the National Theatre, the City Hall, the University and City Park. We also visit Hofburg – the royal palace in Vienna, then walk to the beautiful Gothic St. Stefan’s cathedral.. Rest of the day at leisure. Evening:  Enjoy an opera at Weiner Opera House. Overnight in Vienna.

 

Day 4

Vienna – Danube Valley and Melk (120 km/2.10 min)
In the morning we visit the Schönbrunn Palace near Vienna, where we take a tour of some of the most magnificently decorated rooms  During this all-day excursion to the Danube Valley near Vienna you will be shown many interesting old towns near the Danube river: You will see among other things the town of Dürnstein, with castle ruins above it. King Richard of England was held for ransom here while returning from the Crusades. Also visit Krems, a 1000 year old town. There is a Kunsthalle Krems- a museum of changing exhibits Also an entertaining look at the  buildings and streets of Krems which are from Rainessance times – old and impressive. Later we visit Melk Abbey approximately 1000 years old. Some say that this beautiful fully restored 18th-century Baroque Benedictine Abbey is the most beautiiful in the world.  Part palace, part monastery, part opera set - and with a commanding view of the Danube it has a lovely  library and a very nice garden. Evening: See performance of The Vienna Boys Choir. The Vienna Boys' Choir is a choir of trebles and altos based in Vienna. It is one of the best known boys' choirs in the world. The boys are selected mainly from Austria, but also from many other countries. Overnight in Vienna.

 

Day 5

Vienna – Budapest (245 km/2.40 min)
Join the half-day guided  city tour: Visit Castle Hill with the Royal Palace, the gothic Matthias church and Fishermen’ s Bastions, Chain bridge, Andrássy Avenue and Heroes’ s square, the Opera house, the building of Parliament, St. Stephan Basilica, St. Gellert Hill with the Citadel, the Dohany street Synagogue. Afternoon – free time. Evening: See the performance in the Hungarian Opera House or Folklore Program /100 Member Gypsy Orchestra. Overnight in Budapest.
Optional: visit the inside of the Parliament building,  the museum of Citadel, The Museum of Fine Art on Heroes square, Jewish museum of the Synagogue.

 

Day 6

Budapest – Gödöllő (30km/40 min) 
Visit to a summer palace of princess Sissi –  the breath of the Hungarian-Austrian Monarchy. The royal palace – a beautiful Baroque building - and its large park with horse stables and Riding school was built in  the 1800’s for the wife of the Austrian emperor. Take pictures of contemporary dress/suits. Afternoon: transfer to the airport for final departure.
