11 Days 10 nights Pilgrimage Italy

 This pilgrimage tour consists of eleven days visiting all the important holy places in Italy.

 

 

Day 1  

ROME
Arrive at the airport and transfer to the hotel for accommodation. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in hotel.

 

Day 2  

ROME
Today enjoy a full-day guided city tour of Ancient and Modern Rome: visit St. Peter's Basilica, St Peter's Square and the Vatican Museums (with Sistine Chapel), the Forum, the Colosseum, and the principal Roman Squares. Return to the Hotel for overnight. 

 

Day 3    

ROME - MONTECASSINO - SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO (390km/5h30min)
This morning, we continue our journey to San Giovanni Rotondo with a stop in Montecassino where we will visit the Abbey founded by St. Benedict in 529. Arrival in San Giovanni Rotondo, accommodation and overnight in hotel.

 

Day 4    

SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO - MONTE SANT'ANGELO (50km/1h)- SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO 
Today you see the places associated with Saint Pio. Later, visit the Grotto of Michael the Archangel in Monte Sant'Angelo. Many different Popes have knelt in prayer here seeking the protection of St. Michael. Return to San Giovanni for overnight in hotel.

 

Day 5  

SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO - LANCIANO - LORETO  (340km/4h)
Free time in the morning and then depart for Lanciano, where you will visit the Sanctuary of the Eucharistic Miracle. On to Loreto for accommodation in hotel.

 

Day 6    

LORETO - CASCIA - ASSISI (250km/4h)
After visiting the Sanctuary of the Holy House, depart towards Assisi with a stop in Cascia to visit the Basilica of St. Rita. Arrive in Assisi and check in to hotel.

 

Day 7  

ASSISI
The visit of this marvelous medieval town will include the Basilica of Santa Maria and the Basilicas of St. Francis and St. Clare. Afternoon at leisure for personal activities. Overnight in hotel.

 

Day 8  

ASSISI - ORVIETO - SIENA (210km/3h)
Transfer to Orvieto, where we will have free time to visit its marvellous Cathedral and walk along the narrow streets of this city that is considered one of the most beautiful in Italy with its medieval architecture. On to Siena for accommodation in hotel.

 

Day 9  

SIENA
Today  enjoy a half day guided tour to visit the architectural wonders of this beautiful town, including the Cathedral, the Basilica of St. Domenico where several relics of St. Catherine are kept and the Piazza del Campo where the "Palio" is held every year. Afternoon at leisure for personal activities. Overnight in hotel. 

 

Day 10  

SIENA- FLORENCE - MILAN (400km/5h)
After breakfast, on to Florence where we explore the city during a half-day panoramic city tour, including the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Piazza Della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio etc. In the afternoon, depart for Milan. Accommodation and overnight at hotel.

 

Day 11  

MILAN 
Transfer to the Airport.
