BOHEMIAN PEARLS TOUR - CZECH REPUBLIC IN 9 DAYS

 

Day 1

Prague
Arrival at Prague airport and transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Prague.

 

Day 2   

Prague
Join the  Half-day guided city tour: Walk down through the Old Town and around Old Town Square and see the famous Astronomical Clock at the edge of the old Town. See the Tin Church, Powder Tower, Municipal House, Jewish Quarter. Continue from there down toward the Vltava River and walk  across  the Charles Bridge. Today’s tour finishes at Charles Bridge. Afternoon – free time.  Overnight in Prague.

 

Day 3   

Prague
Go again to Charles Bridge for a second part of the city tour. Across the Vltava River and up the hill to Prague Castle, the most massive castle complex in continental Europe: We will then tour the impressive Old Royal Palace, St. George’s Basilica and St. Vitus Cathedral. We finish the tour at Golden Lane, with the amazing atmosphere of Kafka’s Prague. Afternoon: Discover Prague on your own!  Free time for walk.  Overnight in Prague.

 

Day 4

Prague – Konopiste Castle– Cesky Krumlov(180km/2.40 min)
Konopiste, the former seat of the successor to the Habsburg throne Franz Ferdinand d’Este, was originally a castle from the 14th century. Ferdinand used it as his family’s seat until his assassination in Sarajevo, which launched World War I.  Konopiste Chateau contains Franz Ferdinand’s art collection, and also his hunting trophies. We arrive at Cesky Krumlov, which is a unique historical town with one of the largest castle complexes in central Europe, overlooking the town,. Its Baroque Theatre is a pearl of world heritage. The amazing historical centre of the town with medieval, Renaissance and Baroque architecture is registered as a UNESCO World heritage site.  Overnight in Cesky Krumlov.

 

Day 5

Cesky Krumlov– Trebon – Jindrichuv Hradec – Telc – Brno (240 km/3.30 min)

Today we travel to Brno, and on the way we will visit Trebon and Jindrichov Hradec.  The beginnings of the town of Trebon go back to the mid 12th century. The unique center has Renaissance houses. Trebon historical center was declared a town reservation and the area was declared a Protected landscape and Biospherical UNESCO site.  The Castle complex Jindrichuv Hradec is the third largest castle complex in the Czech Republic (after Prague Castle and Cesky Krumlov castle). It was built in 13th century in Gothic style. You will see presented very valuable original interiors in the Renaissance style from the 16th century. Telc city (UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE) is a small unique town, well known worldwide for its amazing square and the chateau which is a magnificent Renaissance residence. Overnight in Brno.

 

Day 6

Brno – Litomysl – Hradec Kralove (140 km/2.30 min)
Brno is the historical center of the Moravia region. A city with great history, culture and art.  Brno is also the second largest city in the Czech Republic. After breakfast we have a short sightseeing tour in the city of Brno. Next we depart for Hradec Kralove via Litomysl.  The dominant feature of Litomysl is the monumental Renaissance arcade-castle (UNESCO Heritage Site) from the 16th century with the  High-Baroque features added later in the 18th century. On the elongated square, one of the largest in the Czech Republic, stands a town hall of Gothic origin and a series of Renaissance and baroque houses, many with arcades.  Short informal tour in Hradec Kralove.  Overnight in Hradec Kralove.

 

Day 7

Hradec Kralove – Kutna Hora - Prague (140 km/2.20 min)
After breakfast we depart for Prague via Kutna Hora.  Kutna Hora was one of the most important royal towns from the 13th to the 16th century because of its silver mines. The Cathedral of St. Barbara, built in 1348-1420 is a Gothic jewel of Kutna Hora..  Overnight in Prague.

 

Day 8

Prague
Wenceslas Square in Prague is a vibrant area of  hotels, restaurants, bars and clubs. There are also banks and an array of local and international shops. This is the nightlife and entertainment centre of Prague, and Prague's main shopping district begins here. Prague is a great place to shop for Czech souvenirs. The center of Prague is filled with souvenir shops offering all kinds of typical Czech goods: wooden toys as well as jewelry and crystal items. Before flight back, walk to  Wenceslas square and find your souvenirs. leisure  time.  Overnight  in Prague.
Optional: Classical concert in Prague Castle – Lobkowicz Palace or St. Georg’s Basilica.

 

Day 9

Prague
Transfer to the airport for final departure.
