DAY 1

TALLINN
Arrival at the airport. Transfer to the hotel.

 

DAY 2

TALLINN
Tallinn  - a sea coast capital, a rare jewel in the north of Europe in the Gulf of Finland - one of the most completely preserved medieval cities in Europe. Visit Tallinn’s beautifully preserved medieval Old Town with its splendid cobbled streets, red-tiled roofs and elegant spires . It is undoubtedly the city’s heart and soul. See Toompea Castle, the seat of the Parliament of the Republic of Estonia - the Riigikogu. Continue to the Dome Church. The Baroque pulpit and organ loft are worth a look. Visit One of Tallinn's most resplendent monuments the spectacular Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. See the Old Town Hall that served as the home of the city administration for an incredible 700 years, right up until 1970. The tour continues going to Kadriorg Park and the Kadriorg Palace, a treasured Tallinn icon. The baroque palace is set in an expansive park boasting ponds, pathways and playgrounds. The building also houses the foreign art collection of the Art Museum of Estonia, which is well worth seeing.

 

DAY 3

TALLINN - HAAPSALU (100km./1h.30min.) – VIRTSU – KUIVAST – KURESSAARE (80km./1h.)
Departure to Haapsalu,  a seaside resort town with a turbulent history and a favourite retreat of the Russian czars in the 19th century. Enjoy the walking tour through the city centre and a visit of the ruins of the castle. Continue to Virtsu, a small borough, where you will get the ferry to Kuivast, a village in the eastern coast of the island of Muhu. Drive to Kuressaare, the capital of Saaremaa.

 

DAY 4

KURESSAARE – ANGLA – KARJA – KURESSAARE
Explore Saaremaa - the biggest Island in Estonia. The tour starts from Kuressaare, the largest town on the island. See the Kurassaare castle and its convent building that is a magnificent example of the late Gothic style in the architecture of the fortifications. Visit the Episcopal Castle, which dates back from the 14th century and is one of the best preserved medieval castles in the Baltic countries. Continue on to the windmills in Angla and the St. Catherine’s Church in Karja, the smallest church in Saaremaa, but the most beautiful. It is the sculptural decor that makes the church a real jewel. See the Kali Craters, a group of 9 meteorite craters, the most recent craters created by an impact event. Enjoy the beauty of this strange and unique natural phenomenon. Back to Kuressaare.

 

DAY 5

KURESSAARE – PARNU (160km./2h.30min.) – RAKVERE (230km./3h.) – LAHEMAA
The ferry brings us back to the mainland. Departure to Pärnu  that has been the official summer capital of Estonia for many years. Enjoy a walking tour, seeing the Seaside promenade, Soviet Bloc housing area, Freedom monument, and the riverside slum. Feel the atmosphere of the centre of Pärnu, its historic buildings, break-water and seaside wooden architecture.. Departure to Rakvere, a peaceful provincial town still benefiting from its Hanseatic legacy. See Rakvere Castle that dates back to the 14th century. The museum houses exhibits weapons, medieval torture, and the history of the Livonian Order. Final stop is the Lahemaa National Park.

 

DAY 6

LAHEMAA – ALTJA (50km/1h.) – VOSU – KASMU – PALMSE – SAGADI – VIHULA – TALLIN (90km./1h.30min.)
The Lahemaa National Park is one of the last untouched places in the Baltic region. It is very enjoyable not only because of its diverse nature but also because of the mythic stories, cultivated by local people for generations. The protected park offers unspoiled flora and fauna, rivers and lakes, small quaint villages and coastal towns, sandy beaches and old manor houses. Explore the ethnographic village in Altja and the enchanting towns of Võsu and Käsmu. Get closer to nature and enjoy the tranquility of these places. Visit Estonia's well known Palmse Manor and get a complete overview of its history and owners – the von der Pahlen family. See the baroque Sagadi Manor and continue to the picturesque Vihula Manor that make up one of the most unique group of manors.

 

DAY 7

Transfer to the airport.
