DAY 1

Tbilisi
Arrival at Tbilisi International Airport. Transfer to the hotel.

 

DAY 2

Tbilisi - Mtskheta – Stepantsminda– Anuari – Gudauri - Darialy valley- Kazbegi
Starting from Mtskheta, former capital of Georgia. Visit Jvari and Svetitskhoveli Monasteries, In harmony with the scenery these Monasteries  they represent a masterpiece created both by man and nature. Departure to Stepantsminda (former Kazbegi), which is famous with its scenic location in the Greater Caucasus Mountains and is the centre for trekking and mountain climbing. Explore the Ananuri Castle complex- the scene of numerous battles in the past and continue on to Gudauri - one of the most famous ski resorts in Georgia at the height of 2195 meters. The tour continues on to Gergeti Trinity Church. Its isolated location on top of a steep mountain surrounded by the vastness of nature has made it a symbol for Georgia. Departure to Dariali Valley. Admire the waterfall and the national park. Enjoy the tranquility of this harmonious place. 

 

DAY 3

Kazbegi – Sno- Kazbegi
Departure to Sno village  to visit the summer residence and patrimonial tower of the current Catholic-Patriarch of Georgia. Visiting the towers of Phshansheta (XVI-XVII cc.) and the Church of Saint Mary in Sioni (IX c.) where the influence of western European architecture can be noted.  Enjoy the unspoiled nature while trekking in the Juta valley. Back to the Kazbegi. 

 

DAY 4

Kazbegi – Truso Valley - Kazbegi
Explore the beautiful Truso Valley, situated 2200 m. above sea level. Visit to Pasanauri, a popular tourist destination in Georgia due to its picturesque location and its mineral water as well as hiking routes and handcrafted items and food.

 

DAY 5

Kazbegi – Phshavi - Shatili
Departure to Phshavi. Chance to visit the house museum of famous Georgian writer Vazha Phshavela. Next stop is Kistani fortress, located on the top of hill, it is a holy place for locals. See the waterfall “traveler’s tears” which falls directly down on to the road. Arrival in Shatili. 

 

DAY 6 

Shatili – Mutso - Shatili
Explore the unique complex of medieval fortresses and fortified dwellings of stone and mortar, functioned both as a residential area and a fortress guarding the northeastern outskirts of the country. The fortress consists of the terraced structures dominated by flat-roofed dwellings and about 60 towers  clustering together to create a single chain of fortifications. See ancient cosmic cryptograms. Departure to Mutso. The village retains original architecture, and is a popular destination for tourists. Visit the ruins of ancient castles and towers. Back to Shatili. 

 

DAY 7 

Shatili - Tbilisi
Departure to Tbilisi. Encounter the true Tbilisi spirit, with the visits to the Old Tbilisi Sulfur Baths, Georgian Orthodox and Armenian Gregorian churches, and a Jewish synagogue and a Turkish mosque side by side, reflecting Tbilisi's acceptance and tolerance of different religions. Observe the 19th century wooden Italian dwellings that are still preserved here. See a recent monument, the Tbilisi Sameba Cathedral, the largest cathedral in the Caucasus.

 

DAY 8

Transfer to the airport. Departure.
