Day 1

Frankfurt - Rudesheim 70km/1h
Arrival at the airport. Travel to Rudesheim.  Discover the legend of the Lorelei, travelling past green hillsides, tiny villages and romantic castles. Explore picturesque Rudesheim and taste the local wines.

 

Day 2

Rudesheim - St.Goar-Boppard - Cologne
Enjoy a River Rhine cruise to St.Goar.  Explore its lovely atmosphere and pretty scenery.See the ruined fortress of Burg Rhinefels. Explore the underground tunnels built during the 30 Years War. Continue to Boppard.  Experience the artistry and creativity of the Romans and early Christians, right through to the Middle Ages with its knights in shining armour. Departure to Cologne. Visit the Old town and explore the magic of the city. Continue to the Cathedral to see its famous treasures like the shrine with the relics of the Three Wisemen or the triptych "The Altar of the City Patrons". Overnight.

 

Day 3

Cologne - Heidelberg 250km/2h30min
Travel to  old-fashioned Heidelberg. See the typical villages of the agricultural region, the Bergstrasse. Explore Heidelberg, Germany's oldest university and fascinating Heidelberger Schloss. Overnight.

 

Day 4

Heidelberg - Black forest - Breitnau 200km/2h
The tour goes to the Black forest and the celebrated spa town of Baden-Baden, best known for its therapeutic waters. Enjoy a walking tour of Baden-Baden's Belle Epoque historic center. Continue to Breitnau for overnight.

 

Day 5

Breitnau - Lake Constance 150km/2h30min - Friedrichshafen- Fussen 150km/1h30min
Travel to Bavaria. Enjoy the view of the beautiful Lake Constance, the largest lake in Germany. Continue to Friedrichshafen, known for its key role in the story of Germany's famous Zeppelins. Overnight in the enchanting Bavarian town of Fussen.

 

Day 6

Fussen - Hohenschwangau- Oberammergau50km/1h - Munich 90km/1h30min
Departure to Hohenschwangau. Enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride to Neuschwanstein Castle. This grandiose fairy-tale castle, built by Bavaria's King Ludwig II can be recognized as the model for the castle in the Disney film classic Sleeping Beauty. Explore its grand staircase, Hall of Mirrors and impressive gardens.The tour continues to the alpine village of Oberammergau, where the world-famous Passion Play has been performed every ten years. Departure to Munich.

 

Day 7

Munich
Explore the Bavarian capital. Start from the celebrated Maximilian strasse, the 17th-century Residenz, and the old town hall. Visit Alte Pinakothek, one of Munich's most famous museums. Explore some of Europe's finest art treasures.

 

Day 8

Munich - Rothenburg (250km/2h30min)
Travel to the medieval town of Rothenburg. Visit Rothenburg's renowned Gothic cathedral. Walk along its cobblestone streets and gabled houses. Overnight.

 

Day 9

Rothenburg - Weimar (260km/2h30min)
Drive to Weimar, the seat of Germany's post-World War I government and the birthplace of modern architecture. Explore the city of Wolfgang von Goethe, Franz Liszt and Johann Sebastian Bach.

 

Day 10

Weimar - Dresden 200km/2h
Continue to the city of Dresden, home to impressive architecture and many artistic treasures. Visit the city's historic Royal Palace. Explore the New Green Vault and  some of the 4,000 works of art, treasures from the Renaissance, Baroque and Classicist periods.

 

Day 11

Dresden
Continue the sightseeing in Dresden with a visit of Frauenkirche Protestant church. See The Procession of the Princes and continue on to the neo-Renaissance Opera house. Visit the Baroque Zwinger, home to five museums. Enjoy a cruise on the Elbe River.

 

Day 12

Dresden - Potsdam 200km/2h - Berlin 40km/1h
Travel to Potsdam and visit the Cecilienhof Palace, where Truman, Churchill, and Stalin signed the Potsdam Treaty. Enjoy Park Sanssouci, a fabulous rococo palace with amazing interiors. Continue to the Brandenburg lake district and Berlin.

 

Day 13

Berlin
Enjoy Berlin's highlights. Explore the Brandenburg Gate and famous Checkpoint Charlie both relics of the Cold War. Continue to the Deutscher Dom, the Französischer Dom, Unter den Linden Boulevard, the Reichstag and the Schauspielhaus. Visit the "Museum Island", best known for the vast Pergamon-Museum, which houses an extensive collection of ancient Greek, Middle-Eastern and Islamic art and architecture.

 

Day 14

Transfer to the airport.
